ЛЕТНЯЯ ПРОГРАММА ДЛЯ ДЕТЕЙ 14-17 лет
Earlscliffe College - частный sixth form колледж, основан в 1870 году и расположен в красивом старом восстановленном здании викторианского стиля, в Фолкстоне на юго-восточном побережье Англии, в 55 минутах езды от Лондона. Колледж расположен в западной части Фолкстона в шаговой доступности от элегантной набережной, с которой открывается вид на English Channel, и железнодорожной станции, откуда поезда идут до Лондона (London – St.Pancras).
Обучение предполагает интенсивные занятия английским языком, всего 30 уроков в неделю (22,5 часов в неделю). Курс является высоко мотивационным, стимулирующим и уникальным и предназначен для студентов от уровня intermediate и выше. Размер учебной группы 12 человек. Группа делится на три мини группы по четыре человека для работы в группе и выполнения заданий командой. Каждый студент выполняет входной и выпускной тесты. Занятия сфокусированы на разговорной практике, слуховом восприятии, чтении и правописании. Языковые навыки отрабатываются при выполнении специальных заданий, тем и тематических докладов, которые обсуждаются на форумах “In the News”, “Debate”, “Extended Writing”, “Global Affairs” и др. Можно взять дополнительные уроки английского от 4 до 8 в неделю. Любые дополнительные мероприятия всегда связаны с классной языковой работой. По окончании курса студентам выдается сертификат, прогрессивный отчет и отчет об активности студента. Классные комнаты и лаборатории прекрасно оборудованы и отвечают современным требованиям образовательного процесса. Они светлые, яркие и свежие.
Размещение в резиденции, на территории колледжа. Для студентов предоставляются комнаты на двоих с удобствами (туалет и ванная в номере). Каждый студент имеет свой отдельный шкаф для одежды и рабочий стол. Во всех комнатах имеется соединение Wi-fi. Размещение высокого стандарта позволяет студентам чувствовать себя комфортно. Всего в школе размещаются только семьдесят студентов и в их распоряжении весь кампус и все его возможности.
Питание – завтрак, обед и ужин готовятся собственным шеф поваром и его командой и сервируются в столовом зале колледжа. Детям предлагается хороший выбор блюд, в том числе вегетарианские и диетические. Меню разнообразное и чередует китайскую, мексиканскую, индийскую кухни и, конечно, британские Fish & Chips. В период выезда на экскурсии дети завтракают и ужинают в академии, с собой им выдается пакетированный ланч.
Экскурсионная программа включает две выездные экскурсии по средам и воскресеньям на полный день (это города Лондон - еженедельно, Брайтон, Лидс, Эшфорд, Кентербери и др.), одну послеполуденную экскурсию, ежедневные спортивные з анятия и игры, развлекательные мероприятия. Предлагаются занятия танцами (Dance Academy). Дети имеют возможность заниматься различными видами спорта.
Спорт. На территории колледжа во второй половине дня после занятий студенты могут играть в волейбол и настольный теннис. Все остальные занятия спортом проходят на спортивных площадках, расположенных недалеко от колледжа. С тренером можно заняться верховой ездой, пейнтболом, картингом и гольфом, теннисом, хоккеем на траве.

Think Global! for 13-17 year olds
This course drives language development by encouraging its learners to adopt “the values, attitudes and behaviours that support responsible global citizenship”.
Think Global! is designed not only to maximise a student’s language development but to do this through using UNESCO’s ‘Four pillars of learning’: learning to know; learning to do; learning to be and learning to live together.
20 hours per week
Minimum English level: A2+
By exploring global themes utilising 21st century learning skills, students enhance their language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and gain the confidence to engage in discussions, debates, and challenges with their peers.
The weekly themes prompt criticall thinking about pressing issues in the 21st century world. Students develop communication skills for debates and presentations, collaborate for competitive tasks, and unleash their creativity through projects like short movies and an online school magazine.
Topics for the week include:
· Rise and Fall of Civilisations: a week revolving around a huge game of ‘diplomacy’, where students study culture, peace & conflict, and global issues to help debate, negotiate and strategise foreign policy
· The 21st Century citizen: students look at what it means to be a citizen of the 21st century, with a focus on mental health, social issues, media, and identity
· STEM Week : from practical challenges to theoretical debates, students study the impact of science and tech through the ages – from the industrial revolution to the near future
· The Earlscliffe Echo – the week where Earlscliffe students become journalists and content creators – studying the news and propaganda, creating culture & travel blogs, and writing critical reviews
· The Earlscliffe Festival in Art, Film and Media
· Mini PPE : through a series of simulations of major global events, students look at the application of politics, philosophies and economics to our complex world

Sustainable Futures for 14-17 year olds
Empowering the change-makers
20 hours per week

This highly relevant course offers an exciting and thought-provoking mix of theoretical and practical activities designed to encourage responsibility, commitment and purpose in its participants through self-reflection.
Case studies will consist of both global and local initiatives and their interaction with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Daily topics of the United Nation’s Goals for Sustainable Development are investigated in three phases:
Phase 1 = “Thinking Globally”: students learn about the general theme in broad terms and complete some reading and writing tasks to embed knowledge.
Phase 2 = “Thinking Locally”: students study, carry out fieldwork, conduct interviews, etc based around Folkestone and the campus.
Phase 3 = “Thinking Sustainably”: students work on projects which apply the above content from Phase 1 and 2.

Breaking Digital for 14-17 year olds
Shaping the socio-cultural landscape through communication
This new two week programme is designed to equip students with the skills and know-how to critically challenge and interpret information, data and news in order to arrive at a balanced view on global ‘big issues’.
The course will also teach students how best to communicate creatively their own ideas and opinions to the widest target audience.
This course is perfect for curious, well-informed students who think independently yet enjoy working collaboratively in dynamic teams. Students will harness technical skills in creating video, audio and text output to bring political, cultural and social discussion to the table.
Topics include:
- Analysing news: navigating the 21st century media landscape
- Investigative journalism – collaborating to create a school newspaper
- Learning about film and photography
- Learning about the role the internet plays in society, and how it could shape the future
Mini MBA
For young business people aged 15-17 years
20 hours per week
Minimum English level: B2+
This programme is for students looking for an inspirational, ambitious and relevant course which gives them the perfect introduction to the exciting and productive world of startups, business and global trade.
Our experienced and dedicated academic staff will inspire students to look at the world through the eyes of an entrepreneur. From identifying and solving problems, to learning how global events impact local businesses, the Mini MBA™ is perfect for ambitious students who thrive under pressure and seek out challenges.

This course is ideal for committed students looking for a very different kind of summer programme, who want to boost their CVs and university applications by completing this rigorous and challenging programme. Also, for students considering studying business, finance, management, economics or accounting at A-level, IB or undergraduate level, the Mini-MBA™ provides an intensive and comprehensive introduction.

Uni-Prep
The University Preparation course is for those ages 16-17+, who will soon be considering applying to universities either in the UK or their own countries.
This higher level, skills-based course (20 hours per week) is designed to focus on all the independent learning skills required of an ambitious undergraduate and indeed to help some of our students seeking entry to the UK’s best universities.
The academic thread running throughout the course is completion of an extended essay on an academic topic of the student’s choice. This task brings together many of the skills taught across the two weeks and is similar to first year undergraduate work.
This two week course includes:
· IELTS lessons
· Research skills, essay writing skills, note-taking skills
· Critical thinking

· Choosing appropriate UK universities and courses
